I was super excited because I have been wanting to try Veronas for some time. Upon entering the front door there was a flurry of servers surrounding the hostess, they scurried off as we entered. At that moment the hostess, a chubby girl with black hair and bangs and a mouth piercing gave my boyfriend and I what I can only describe as a hateful grimacing sneer, her lip literally curled. I said table for two and she gave a lingering disdainful stare and then repeated "for two? "I must admit I was confused and taken aback. I can only say I 've never been treated with such disdain upon merely entering a restaurant.I looked back at my boyfriend and he looked back at me equally as confused. Without speaking we walked right out of there. This was very disappointing as we were hopeful to leave a good review about great service and wonderful food, however this unwelcoming experience has turned me off from Verona 's for the foreseeable future. On the other hand I would also like to thank you for that horrible experience because it led us to Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro where we were treated with smiles as welcomed patrons and given wonderfully amazing service. Their Saganaki flaming cheese was a tasteful visual delight! Their salmon was grilled perfectly crispy on the exterior yet moist and flavorful inside. Their steaks were well marble and perfectly grilled. Their wine list, exquisite. I had hoped to say similar wonderful things about Verona 's.I hope that Verona 's can reevaluate the professionalism of their hostess or perhaps hire someone of a classy pleasant and welcoming disposition. I would have really liked to experience their menu.
Solid food if you don’t care about general food safety or hygiene. Worked here for six months, witnessed cooks pick their teeth and lick their fingers and go right back to work. Open food containers (meat, fish, sauces) kept on the ground overnight. Owners are outright abusive to staff members that aren’t family. Avoid.Read the 1 star reviews for an accurate representation of the general experience here.
Our Server Maria B. she's is excellent!!so we started with the Bread basket I can't believe they charge for the bread (really?)on to the caprese very good tomatoes today, cup of the artichoke soup I liked it.I had the scallops I expected a sear on them but not, but good and husband had the prime ribeye (didn't look like a prime very thin) and unfortunately a lot of fat and grizzle, so if your looking for prime ribeye go to Costco and Bbq yourself.other than the Ribeye $65.00, we will always be back!!! Even though my husband did tell Maria about the steak and you could see all the fat and grizzle he left, we were not compensated at all, could've at least comped a dessert or something so that was a little disappointing. But we are faithful customers of Verona's actually since Jamie worked at Marco's 35 years ago. Have the chicken marsala its the best around. Verona's we love everyone there, and we will always be back. Until the next hot meal have a safe and cool summer!!
We enjoyed the food very much. My husbands shrimp scampi with green noodles looked amazing! He said the prawns were very good. I had the veal picata with polenta and vegetables. It was cooked perfectly. We have been there many times and will return.
The food was great, everyone at our table enjoyed there meal. Service was impeccable.
