In any case, the seafood caserole, three pieces of different fish and garnel and whistle in a delicious tomato sauce and generous portion. we had the house wine that comes in a pitcher, very good value. If you like fish, come here.
At the arrival we found the personal very rude and indifferent. the fish is extremely overpriced and not so well cooked or presented. very disappointing as we thought to be next to the harbour, it would be special.
With the name house of fish I did not expect to serve frozen products. the place is right next to the sea for God's sake! prawns and filets were sponge because they were cooked from frozen. very disappointing.
We have been to Puerto Morgan a couple of times and had noticed this restaurant from the popular side of the harbour. This restaurant is across the water and is a min walk down the pier where the fishing boats moor there is...a car park at the end on the pier if you don't want to walk but it is well worth a visit. From the back it looks a bit like a dockside warehouse which I think it was but inside it is very nice clean. comfortable , excellent fresh food , great service and smashing views over the harbour. What more do you need ? Oh and at the end of our meal the waiter plonked a bottle of honey rum and glasses of ice on the table with instruction to help ourselves to what we wanted he also offered a non alcoholic version for the driver All round a very nice night and very reasonably priced.
I have eaten a few times here during the past 3 months. The experience is very patchy. I thought this should be the place to go, supporting the local fishermen, having the benefit of the freshest produce available straight from the trawler… Well.. It all seems to depend on the mood (or the shifts) of the service staff. It can easily happen that you come to the restaurant, be greeted cheerfully and being asked to take a seat at a table. Menu is coming, order is taken, all fine. Next week, you try to ask for a table, you’re being ignored, you choose a table by yourself, and being ignored again for 20 minutes with very few other clients around. I can handle that. What’s a bit disappointing is the inconsistency in food quality. Given the obvious advantage for the restaurant to have access to the freshest produce available, my take is that they don’t really appreciate this luxury. I had nice and fresh grilled sardines. I los hd a seafood stew that was so overcooked and dry that I would presume that none of the ingredients were actually fresh and cooked a point. I also had a portion of spaghetti with shrimps and garlic where it was quite obvious that those shrimps were anything but fresh.
