Hacienda Lopez - Mohegan Lake

I visited this restaurant since I was a kid. It never disappoints. The most delicious and fresh guacamole and authentic dishes. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.

Love it here. Food is great. Guacamole is fantastic and my Mango Margaritas are amazing. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is authentic and secret. And very clean. Try the Tres Leche cake. Yummy.

Really nice decor. Two times here. 1. was 9 years ago when it had another name, I thought good.. This time the food was a little better, had the Tres Amigos, Chicken, Cheese and Beef Enchiladas. I didn't read the menu correctly, didn't notice the cheese, I didn't get it. The beef and the chicken itself had no favor. The sauce upstairs was decent. The rice, bland and fried beans good taste, really small potion. The red sauce that came with the chips was delicious. The guacamole, okay, needed more cilantro, also small potion, 1/4 avocados, for 12 dollars it not worth it. My favorite was the live Mariachis, probably interested, really good.

I'm not trying to write bad reviews unless it deserves well, so here we go. I'm in the city that visits my family, I live in Southern California, so I know Mexican food. Came here Friday night for early dinner. Our server was friendly, no complaints in this department. Our meals came out in time and I noticed a cooked moth in my plate! I did not make a scene and called the server over, he was very apologetic and offered me the menu to choose another meal. They told me it had to flow in while I brought the plate to me, I said it was cooked and crispy. I ordered another meal to give them another chance, no mistakes. We all thought the food was average and rather blazing, tasteless salsa, Stale Chips. We didn't complain when we got the check, they didn't even have my meal or at least my glass of wine, bad customer relations for an average restaurant! When leaving we noticed the screen door where the kitchen is wide open, check your food!!!

Food was not authentic at all and tastes like it was going bad. Looks like it was prepared lazy. So expensive too. $71 for 2 people (one appetizer, two entrees).
