The Hatch (when open and the weather is kind) is better because you can sit at wooden tables in a fenced off area. As always when coffee is on the menu, there's a wait for hot drinks (even though we both wanted only tea). Coffee machines and the whole shebang of how to make each option is very time consuming! Worth the wait for a well earned cuppa, and the home bakes are lovely, generous portions, we shared a delicious slice of lemon drizzle
Met with 5 friends for light lunch in the conservatory for about the 3rd time in about the last 5 years. The prices have grown steadily, the value for money has dropped steadily, as have the choices. Two choices today salmon (as always) beef bourguignon. Sandwiches over priced with boring plastic cheese. Shop prices expensive especially their novelty mugs, overheard one person saying they needed to speak to their bank manager before coming again!!
Lovely place for a lunch when walking around the estate or hills. Wide range of choices all very fresh and tasty to choose from, from salads to hot meals, platters to sandwiches. You can try all the wines by the glass staff are super friendly
Food madly overpriced and really poor offerings if you have any dietary requirements. Only food available to you if you don't eat meat is a sad salad with a piece of very dry falafel for £10.95. Such a shame, as the site is gorgeous, and wine is amazing! They are missing a trick by letting this cafe be so awful.
My fish lunch was delicious and the service friendly and helpful. I was so pleased last time I visited, a year or so ago, there was just one gluten free option which was also vegan, so I was unable to have the fish option as I had in the past. This time I was delighted to find there were three dishes I could choose from, all of which looked good. I was with a group of five and we all enjoyed our meals and discussed meeting at Denbies again soon!
