This charming café, located on the grounds of the National Trust house in Polesden Lacey, is a lovely spot to enjoy a slice of cake. It is the perfect place to relax and refuel after exploring the beautiful surroundings.
There were limited options on the menu, but the sausage and cornmeal with mixed vegetables was outstanding and very tasty.
We came a little early for the free flow to foot around the house so had a coffee. service was good. they don't wait. there is a cover for people with dogs that seems like a good idea. we sat in caffe, that was quite pleasant.
Awful place, very dirty on a busy Sunday. They don’t offer proper plates, mugs or cutlery with their tea and cake, only plastic ones. It was difficult to get hold of a knife as everything on the self serve desk was cluttered in rubbish and...all containers empty. I doubt I’ll ever go there again but if I do I’ll bring my own cutlery! The Granary restaurant is so much better and I’ll go there again in the future.
