She then checked and told us we could eat but must leave for 9 as the table was reserved. No problem for us, that left plenty of time. Then we were given a menu in English, we ordered croquettes: 3 cheese with jam and prawn and kimchi, and I double checked that the rosti zermatt we ordered had no meat in it with the waitress. She confirmed no meat (we’re pescatarian). We also ordered the Fondue Geneve (no meat). The croquettes arrived and we started eating them, I had a fish one first and then the rosti came out with a lot of ham in it. I explained that we couldn’t eat that. The waitress took it back and another server came and said that it had meat in it on the menu, and that the croquettes also had ham. I asked her to show me in English and she said that it was missing there. Barely apologised and whisked the rosti away to be remade without ham. While the waitress who had originally taken our order said nothing (despite my having explained that I had checked with her). She then cane over and asked if she should take the remaining croquettes yes, obviously we aren’t going to eat them. We’re quite laid back people but serving us meat after we checked and having been pescatarian for 20 years made us unhappy to say the least. The fondue came and was nice buy at this point I’d lost my appetite and just wanted to leave. We requested the bill… which came with all of the items despite the fact that we couldn’t eat it all. We will not be going back.
First time in Sierra Nevada for my wife and I. FYI . I spent 35 years in the food business. My option is as follows...... Christmas Eve so most Restaurants book out but managed to get a table here for 6.oc. What a BAD decision. We got a tasting starter of liver Pâté, which was fine. We ordered Foie gras for staters which came with cooked apple, jam and marmalade with sliced toasted bread roll. We got about 10 slices, 4 were properly toasted!! The Foie gras was hard and brittle, very poor storage , I suggest. For our main we ordered the Mexican fondue with chillies, crispy jalapeños, Mexican pancakes and crispy meats. The jalapeños were frozen stuffed with cream cheese , the ones you buy in the supermarkets, crispy meats was , again, frozen MRM/Minced chicken balls in a bread crumb, That’s Mechanically Recovered Meat. . We did query the “crispy “ meat but got “that’s it” . The pancakes !!!! turned out to be Nachos out of a packet, again Supermarket type. We did get a BOTTLE of chilli sauce, suppose they were the chillies !?!? The Fondue cheese was tasteless except for the taste of Cornflour one of the ingredients . But where was the Emmental/Gruyère cheeses, wine, lemon tastes.. NO WHERE !!!. For the privilege of ordering this supermarket junk food we were charged €20.90 a head. Not sure what the good Tripadv reviewers ate but not this rubbish. To me it a challenge to the “ Trade descriptions act”. Upon clearing our table and paying for this junk €90 in all The waitress never asked if all was ok... probably afraid to do so!!! The wine Protos 27 was the only saving grace. But you can’t screw that up. We left not leaving a tip and will not return. Thank God for TiTo Tapas food later.
I was there with my wife, our son and my mother, the food was absolutely great, big portions and excellent quality, the prizes are good. We enjoy a lot and for sure will come again! We absolutely enjoy the cheese fondue and the meat aswell
