Shanghai Taste Noodle and Dumpling Restaurant

Friday night should be a pretty simple and painless experience and if that's what you like to find somewhere else! I have collected an order placed by my daughter. I was at the time, but was told to wait five minutes, which turned out to be 30 minutes, but they wanted the money ahead. I checked the name and order, but the wrong one was given. I was overcharged $30 in this process and was told that it was my fault! when I returned the dinner, I stood in a snake of people who complained about similar problems. the owner of the restaurant has a particularly bad habit of not listening to anyone, but simply saying yes yes yes, all that is asked by it here is no interest in customer service. avoid it.

This is one of our local restaurants, so we visit it pretty regularly. The dumplings are great, and are always served quickly. Also on offer are an array of other tasty dishes. The owners are friendly and always have a smile on their face, and...are welcoming. A good quick meal for couples, families and friends.

First time trying out this place on the way back from work. Had dinner and ordered the chicken and prawn dumpling. It comes in ten pieces of dumpling. The taste is acceptable and done alright. The skin is rather fragile and easily breaks if you...try to pick it up with chopsticks. Tea is provided as drink for the place. Sauces are readily available on the table. The waitress (owner I assume) is friendly overall. Some miscommunication happens between the waitress and me regarding the pricing of the dish as there's 50 cents difference between the advertised price on the window and the menu when I went to pay the bill. At the end, the waitress decide to waive the 50 cents. Place is kept clean overall. Seems like some regular customers frequent the place either eating in or takeaway with personalised service by the waitress. Despite the 50 cents issue above, the pricing of the food overall at this place is reasonable.

Been here a few times now and it does not disappoint at all. The restaurant itself is a bit on the basic side but I'd rather that and enjoy quality meals than go into a flash place that provides less quality than the Shanghai Taste....The service is good although on this occasion there was a problem with the waitress not understanding our English so well and we got more on the table than intended. But no problem at all, we had plastic containers to take home what we couldn't eat. Most meals are inexpensive and you would not get a more filling plate anywhere else. You would spend about $10-12 a meal. So when ordering a meal I think you could probably share it with two to three others! The meals were great and I'll be back again. This is a restaurant you would travel a few kilometres to go to and not be disappointed at all. I say this as someone who is not really enamoured with Chinese food (prefer Indian and Italian) but if I'm to have it this is the place to go. It is a BYO.
