Casa cinzas - Monchique

The personal is really friendly. the meal, espacilally the bacalhau con broa is simply fabulous, so we go and eat them very well for them and their family. for children very kind attention for the meal and the price.

On the way back from monchique we keep in this cozy restaurant on the side of the road. the best home boiled food I ever had, grilled fish and grilled huhn was amazing. the sweet side and kartoffels were very tasteful. great service and great desserts. to all homemade from the owner. if you like large honestly cooked food a great service and great worth, I very recomend this place.

Popped in for lunch after walking in the hills from Parque Rural, a motorhome site approx 1Km away. The food is locally sourced from their own farm, and the restaurant is 3rd generation from 1958. Starters for both of us...melon and ham (ham off the...bone) and for me pork pieces in sauce which turned out to be slices of tender pork in a garlic and lemon sauce....very garlicky, but full of flavour. Mains equally impressive. Dessert, locally made almond and sweet potato pie, was delicious. Menus in English. Great service and nice chat with our attentive waiter who provided good suggestions where we could visit in the area.

This is the last cafe/ restaurant on the right hand side of the road before you get to Caldas do Monchique . It's nothing to look at, has no views infact it looks a bit like a garage but it's worth stopping as their chicken...piri piri is marvellous . My wife and I have used this place for at least 20 years . We always look at the menu but in the end chose the same thing . Bread , olives , butter sardine pate . couvert . A whole chicken piri piri , chips , salad wine and water . Like all great meals it's simple , but it's lovely the olives , the salad , chips and chicken are all to die for . You can go to bigger and better known places on the road to Monchique but they cook the chicken on a much larger scale and it's pot luck if your meal has just been barbequed or cooked an hour ago . At cinzas everything that we have ever had has been cooked to order . Always enjoy eating here . Meal as described about € 20 for 2 . Try this place out .

That is the last restaurant right in front of caldas de monchique. they have many parking places, both next to the restaurant and on their parking opposite, which is much safer than on the road. the food is traditionally cooked in the opposite and beautiful....Your dish of the day lunch deal is a real bargain for the same great quality as the main menu and they will not find better to these trips up to foia. the staff are friendly and take care of them well.
