The children shared a burger which was such a low quality meat it looks so processed. We brought it to the attention of the bar maid within 5 minutes of the meal- they were adamant to take the mixed grill and cook it but in fact we asked them not to and they still included it on the bill despite not eating it £25! The ribs were taken off the bill but it was such a poor experience. It makes sense that the restaurant was empty when we walked in. Very very poor quality food for not cheap prices and the celebratory meal we were hoping for.
We were staying in a cottage up the road from The Carpenters Arms, we decided to have our meal here for our first night. It was very accommodating, I had a pram so sometimes feel in peoples way but we were directed to seats where I wouldn’t have to move the pram in and out. The gentleman who served us, we presumed he was the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, so was a younger boy who was waiting on. Manners were impeccable. The food was better than ‘pub grub’, it was all cooked amazingly with a great menu too. We couldn’t believe it was less than £30 for two mains and two pints of lager (we paid similar to this in a Wetherspoons type pub the following night and the standers of food didn’t compare). Would love a local like this in my area. Excellent place.
Highly recommend this Pub for couples and families a very warm welcome and fantastic home cooked top quality food
Good pub grub in a friendly atmosphere. All home cooking and a special menu on Thursdays for pensioners.
Pleasant atmosphere with hospitable hosts. My wife had an excellent sirloin and my rabbit and parsnip pie was the best pie I have had in a pub restaurant.
