Great place for a Sunday roast! This place has closed since this review, it'll probably open again soon, it's a great location and a nice building.
We booked the Chainbridge for our wedding breakfast as we were having a small ceremony for family and close friends in Usk and wanted somewhere that served good food, close by with capacity for us. Corinn and the team were fantastic. We spent about a month organising over email and popped in a few times everyone was very accommodating. As we'd not planned anything like this before, Corinn and Aimee used their experience and helped us with small bits we'd missed in our initial plan. What we got on the day was amazing. Everyone said how wonderful the food was (we opted for a carvery and then sticky toffee pudding/crumble and hired out the Mr Whippy machine as well) a lot of our guests are planning on returning for a Sunday roast. We had a small group of 2 5 year olds a small area had been put aside for the crafting items I supplied so the children could have fun and not get too bored. We had exclusive hire of the pub and the few people who did wander in were politely informed of this by the team. All in all, the day went off without a hitch, the experience was absolutely lovely and the team cannot be recommended enough they did everything in their power to make our day absolutely perfect.
We had Sunday lunch. The price, in comparison to other local pubs, was on par. They were relatively busy so the service reflected that, but the table service was adequate, No ones fault it is what it is. Once ordered the food came out in a reasonable time. I'm a pretty picky individual when it comes to my Sunday lunches so maybe I expect too much but the food was again on par with most other local establishments. The pub is located in a lovely spot on the river Usk, with gorgeous views. Definitely worth a visit for sure...
