Town Gate Take Away - Monmouthshire

I placed an order at 5:55 and by 7:35, my food still had not arrived. I called the restaurant and the person working there called the delivery driver to find out how much longer it would be. The driver said it would just be ten minutes, but twenty minutes later there was still no sign of her. I called again and she claimed she was on my street, but that was not true. After waiting for over two hours since placing my order, she finally showed up and blamed a road closure in Abergavenny for her lateness. As someone who drives for a living, I know that road closures do not usually cause such significant delays, especially in a small town in the evening. Despite the food being cold, soggy, and inedible by the time it arrived, I still had to pay for it. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

Have used this takeaway for many years and has always been ok However a recent visit should have set alarm bells ringing Front area of takeaway was scruffy and dirty more so than usuual Food ready on time When got home there was a large spring or pancake roll which we hadn't orxered OK thought this was a freebie as order vale was high Rest of food was ok I took about a quarter of the spring roll, taste was off Unfortunetly swallowed my nouthful When we looked at spring roll and cut it open the smell was awful like damp wet musty straw Though oh hek here we go The next night into the morning Stomach cramps and vomitting Followed later in the day by the other end I was the only one who ate it and the only one ill Will never use this takeaway again after many years of being a satisfied customer

I wish I didn't have to write this review, but this is the second time I've received awful service and food. I ordered a delivery of which I was told would be one hour. After one hour and 15 minutes I called to be told my order would be with me soon. It arrive d 35 minutes after the hour and the food was awful. Unfortunately I will never order from Town Gate again.

This the second time now we have had cold food and have had to reheat it. The first time was home delivery and they had trouble finding my address so I expected it to a certain extent. The second time they were really busy and could give a time on delivery so I went to get it , it was cold to the point the curry had started to solidify. I won't be going again.

Shame you cant write a half star. the people at the counter was very rude and they told me to leave even tho i paid for the food.
