China Chef Chinese - Monroe

Was in Monroe for New Years Eve and wanted my traditional Chinese takeout for supper. Not familiar with any of the local Chinese restaurants, so decided to order from China Cafe based on the reviews. I think I'm missing something. I'm used to Chinese food filled with fresh veggies and being very flavorful. This food was so bland and NO vegetables! Wait, I did find one pea in my fried rice. I ordered the chicken lo mein combo dinner and son got sweet and sour chicken combo dinner. The fried rice was basically plain yellow rice with a few bits of scrambled eggs added. Oh, and a pea. Flavorless. Lo mein was the same, just thick spaghetti noodles with sauce. No veggies and little chicken. Egg rolls looked old and over cooked. Sweet and sour was apparently okay but sauce was very thin. The owners were extremely nice when we called in the order and again when we picked it up, but I'm basing this review on the food and not the owners. Place was tiny with a few eat in tables in the middle of a strip mall. Guess I thought all Chinese food was the same but now I know better.

Best Chinese food, lots and lots of yummy flavor. Don't believe the one star reviews and cheat yourself out of some really really good food.

The food was soooooo disgusting and bad even nuddels were tast like raw oli in it very less vegetables or very badly cooked I will never come back in this restaurant

Hands down the best Chinese food spot in Monroe! Everything is cooked to order and the staff is very kind.

Pretty disgusting ,food tasted freezer burnt will not be returning.
