Koumi Express - Monroe

I have eaten at Koumi Tokyo Bistro, I will have to say that Tokyo Bistro wins especially on the Clear Soup. I think it is the mushrooms at Koumi. I like mushrooms but just not in this soup.

I live in Oakland, California and when I come to North Carolina which is every third Saturday of every month, Koumi is a place I have to visit almost every night. It is so good.

Koumi Express has a line around the parking lot, so we thought we would give them a try and see if we were missing out. The line moved fairly quickly. The menu was pretty basic and what you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. We got the mixed vegetables and the steak and shrimp combo. Both meals were good, but I wouldn't say better than most. We would go back if we were in the area.
