La Cabane A Tuque - Mont-Tremblant

I had a fantastic experience and enjoyed a delicious meal. My omnivorous partner was very impressed as well. The ambiance and the people were beautiful too. We will definitely be back to dine here again!

This super cozy sugar shack (cabane à sucre) is entirely vegan, having transitioned from offering vegetarian options in the past. We visited on the first day of the season, and since they had already opened in February, we were the only guests. The owner took the time to answer all our questions, making us feel at home. Everything served is grown and prepared by him, his family, or local friends and neighbors, ensuring that it’s all local and sustainable. The food was fabulous, and although there was no animal fat, it closely resembled the traditional experience one would expect. We enjoyed all the quintessential items on the table, including crumbs, borons, potatoes, millet tourtière, savory tempeh, pancakes, and of course, maple taffy.

The long banquet table invites both new and old friends to gather and enjoy hearty dishes such as soups, roasted carrots, tempeh omelettes, baked beans, and brain cake, all served with delightful sides like ginger, turmeric kimchi, marinated bee hornets, and homemade ketchup! It’s truly a place to relax, enjoy, and share hearty laughter. For a bit of fun, there’s even an axe-throwing wall to test your skills, a disc golf course, and a 45-minute snowshoe hike that leads you to breathtaking mountain views. The menu is 100% vegan, organic, and as local as possible. Make the effort to come here—you’ll be glad you did!
