The Lady Killigrew - Montague

This charming riverside café is one of my favorites for a peaceful afternoon, whether you're solo or with a close friend. The ambiance creates a sense of retreat from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, allowing you to recharge. The window seats offer a lovely view of the river, and when the windows are open, you can hear the soothing sound of the water. While the wine and beer selection appears adequate, I haven't had the chance to try any yet. The menu features straightforward dishes that are consistently good, though I do wish they would update it more frequently. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit!

I discovered this gem right near the Montague Retreat Center, where we were headed for a concert. Despite its remote location, The Lady Killigrew Cafe was a delightful surprise! We arrived around 7:40 PM, just in time for their kitchen closing at 8 PM, so we managed to grab a bite before it shut down. The cafe is quaint and charming, situated right by a picturesque waterway—I'm sorry I didn’t get to experience it in the daylight! The music was fantastic, and I found myself dancing right away. The staff was incredibly friendly, enhancing the lovely atmosphere of the place, which has a unique charm, even extending to its bookshop. I ordered the Number 1 sandwich, which was full of flavor and just the right choice to warm me up. The salad was fresh and had an interesting twist! Overall, it was delicious, and I left feeling perfectly satisfied.

Perfect for lunch or brunch, or simply to sit by the window and enjoy the view of the river.

I adore this place! Lovely place to sit by yourself or meet someone.

Only one generic option for hot coffee and cold coffee available. Do not expect lattes or the like. Hot coffee was very bad. (paper cup) Earl grey tea was amazing. (mug) Didn't try the food, I will on another visit. Food stops at 8PM. Cafe closes at 9PM. Atmosphere, cleanliness, view and service was 10/10! Will continue to visit for the location. Sadly, as a coffee-lover, I won't order anything next time.
