Magnifique hotel, gréât location, but restaurant Was a huge disappointment. I LOVÉ foie gras , ordered It, And could not eat It. Bland And very expensive.for what We ordered. We spent two lovly nights at the hotel. But enjouée our mal at the Burger Bar in Town much better! One of best burgers in France!
We arrived for dinner at this restaurant as we were staying in the Chateau itself. We were given a table by the window and were given our menus. We didn't care for any of the starters and so ordered a main course each. We found the menu to be restrictive and very expensive. We were given two amuse bouche, which was a nice touch, while we waited for the main courses we had ordered. It was then that things went rather wrong!Having finished our main courses, we asked for the desert menu, and nothing happened for a long time. My husband then asked for the menu again, and was told that they were trying to find one in English! Strangely, we were not offered one in French, although we speak French rather well, nor were we offered a verbal translation which would have been very simple. Eventually we gave up, and asked for the bill. We had to ask for this twice. By now we were losing the will to live, as it had taken nearly an hour and a half to eat one course!! Honestly...Life's too short for these sort of shenanigans!!The manager grumpily eventually brought us our bill, which we paid and left hastily as his manner was extremely off-putting, as thought it were US that were at fault. Actually on reflection, certain members of the waiting staff could do with a lesson in customer service, and a hefty dose of humility too. They are there for us, the guests....not the other way round! Conclusion: This is an over rated and expensive restaurant, and again if they are charging these prices, they should deliver a flawless restaurant experience...which they didn't.In our case they failed miserably.
