As said, it is popular and rightfully so. Beef, pork, fish.. they are all good. As is the (house) wine. Ánd the price. Most unlikely that you would regret a visit here!
We stayed in an apartment just across the road thought the restaurant looked a bit unprepossessing with it's large open dining area menu which didn't have an English translation. We decided to try it and are very glad we did so, our Portuguese wasn't up to deciphering the menu but the waiter was able to tell us what everything was so that we knew what we were ordering. The clams were fab as was the steak and the octopus was amazing. The house wine was very agreeable bill was pleasantly affordable. Don't be put off by it's less than exciting appearance, it's well worth a visit!
We stumbled on this place whilst looking for a dinner spot. Very unassuming and tucked away but the service was friendly and the portions are generous. We had the seafood rice for 2 and it was full of clams crab prawns delicious! We also had the molotof for dessert which was a pleasant surprise Only downside is the don’t take non Portuguese card payments which wasn’t clear so had to go hunting for an ATM after being presented with the bill.
I came here with my girlfriends family who have been to this restaurant every year for over 10 years. Authentic local Portuguese food, great value, high quality and brilliant service. Food was quick to serve. Top tip: get the chocolate mousse with whisky, it was world class
We first visited this restaurant in about 1986 when the family bought an apartment nearby and have continued to use it over the years. It continues to provide great local cuisine with good service. We visited in Nov 2018 and had the Arroz de Marisco which was excellent. It’s a bit off the beaten track but it’s worth the walk to get there.
