El Sapo - Monte Verde

This is one of many restaurants that we have eaten during our long Costa Rica trip. Monteverde really lacks GF options, so this place was great to find. A good number of options and the server was very knowledgeable. The food was pretty good. It was the most expensive dinner we had, and that says a lot, so keep that in mind!

This is the restaurant at Hotel Senda. We were included here for 3 days since breakfast, we ate breakfast here every morning. Your menu is marked with gf options that they know about cooking gf extremely. Almost everything we wanted. For breakfast we tried the egg Gallos, Empanadas, pancake French toast. Everything was amazing! They even bring a fresh fruit remover. The appetizers also come with banana muffins that we could not have, but they have Gf bread that can be used for French toast or regular toast. We ate dinner here one night I had the pepper steak who was great. They also made grilled chicken fingers French fries for my daughter, gf. We even had chocolate mousses for dessert. Wonderful hotel restaurant very courteous for travelers with food restrictions!

Everything was phenomenal! Server was celiac, so they really know what they’re doing here!

Delicious, great atmosphere, pretty view! It’s attached to a nice hotel. Server understood my dietary needs right away and they seemed very careful, even forgoing the pesto on my ‘cloud salad’ because their cashews had a “may contain traces of wheat” warning. Super yummy and I bet it would be a beautiful place at sunset!
