Pizza Du Palais - Montpellier

We had a really nice meal here at the New Year's Eve. The pizza and other dishes were delicious and large pizza sizes. Great service through attentive staff, a beautiful relaxed atmosphere and very affordable prices. Would definitely recommend and we will come back.

This place was highly recommended by a friend, so we stopped today. My friend shaved over the tomatoes, Mozzarella and Basilikum Lasagne, so I ordered this. The aromas were rich and interesting. The two with me ordered the salmon lasagna and a pizza with anchovies, olives, onions and capers. Both really enjoyed their meal. We're definitely going back!

Don't come here if you like pizza. My wife was undercooked (Bacon absolutely raw. Right, we didn't say anything until we got the bill, but what in the f is the cook do (he checks what he...Backes answer: No! The waiter no. When we were gone, they were so sad that our night was messed up. Charged for the whole thing anyway. A 14 Euro Frisbee.

Last month on the 6th of October in Montpellier South France, I caught up for dinner with few old friends and we decided to re-visit one of the restaurants we used to go to when we were at Uni; La Pizzeria du Palais. Unsurprisingly,...we found that little has really changed since we last ate there over 20 years ago. Same authentic decor, still a very cheerful staff, good pizzas and pastas with in addition mainstream French dishes. What surprised me instead, after my last 15 years spent in Australia, is the larger portions and the low prices.

The food here was very disappointing, the pizza was tasteless, floppy and laden with salt. The pasta dishes are pretty poor, the tomatoe sauce was sugary and tasted as though it came from a Dolmio jar. The chocolate cake had just come out of the...freezer as it still had frozen particles on the top and was a nasty floppy mess. Overall extremely disappointing and I can't believe for one moment that this restaurant has been ranked as having the nicest pizzas in Montpellier, I have had better elsewhere. However, the staff were friendly and helpful although the service was very slow.
