Basha was conveniently located near our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The food was incredibly fresh and the restaurant was spotless. The man who served us, who happened to be the owner, was extremely friendly and assisted us in making our selections. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. We were actually more impressed by this meal than the $200 dinner we had the night before!
Basha was the first Lebanese fast food restaurant to open in Montreal in the late 1970s. It has not only endured, but has also grown in popularity across the city. While their gyros and other menu items are comparable to other Lebanese restaurants, what I enjoy most is their tabouli. Montreal is a fantastic place for picnics with its numerous bakeries and pastry shops. For less than $5, you can get a generous portion of Basha's tabouli along with broth, cheese, and charcoal for a satisfying and well-balanced meal. Bon appétit!
I had the falafel, fattoush, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, hummus, and couscous with tahini and pita bread. It was incredibly delicious, with fresh and authentic flavors. I can't wait to go back! The staff was very pleasant and friendly. While I was there, many regular customers arrived and the staff knew all of them by name. They also take orders efficiently. It's no surprise that they have expanded to over 40 locations - the food is fresh, healthy, and delicious, and the service is fast and polite.
After eating the very heavy French food Montréal has to offer, my husband and I were craving something fresh for lunch. Basha was close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The food was very fresh, and the location clean. The...man behind the counter, who I assumed was the owner, was so friendly, helping us out with our choices. The amount of food you get is generous, at a great price. I think we were more impressed with this meal than the meal we spent on last night!
Basha was the first Lebanese fast food restaurant to open in Montreal in the late It has not only survived, but also expanded throughout Montreal. While it's gyros and other items are on par with other Lebanese restaurants, what I enjoy the most is...its tabouli. Montreal is a great place to enjoy picnics due to the many boulangeries and patisseries in the city. Pick up a pint of Basha tabouli for less than to complement the bread, cheese, and charcuteries for a fully balanced meal. Bon appetit!
