Cafe Italia - Montréal

A great Italian cafe. If you are in the area, or just shopping in Milano's, nearby, you need to take a break at this very cool place. You make a wonderful cappuccino. The atmosphere is great, most when the time is playing a football game....Have a nice biscotti with your coffee. It's worth it. A must in Montreal. Have fun.

Pretty good coffee, not the best in town, but pleasant. I recommend Caffee Italia not only for her coffee, but also for the ambience!!

On the recommendation of a friend who had lived in Montreal, we went to this place and were well rewarded for our efforts. After living in Rome for a year as a student, we are often disappointed by supposedly authentic Italian places, but caffeine...Italy was a jewel. The sandwiches were very good, but the Caffe Sant Eustachio (near the Pantheon), which I believe to be the best in all Rome.

Authentic around the café. Large coffee, classic ambience, friendly service, good sandwiches. A must when in Little Italy.

Let's talk about the atmosphere at this restaurant first before we get into the food and coffee. We stumbled upon this place in Little Italy while walking around and immediately fell in love with it. The locals frequent this spot, with old Italian men chatting in their native language and sipping coffee. You order at the counter, receive your coffee right away, and get your food delivered to your table. The place can get a bit crowded, but somehow it all works out. We tried the Jambon and Capicola sandwiches and they were the best we've ever had. The portions are generous, perfect for sharing. Vegetarian options are available too. Don't miss out on the iced coffee, it's delicious and not too bitter. Even during busy lunch hours, waiting for your food is worth it as the ambiance is delightful. This place reminded us of Italy and we didn't want to leave. The fact that it was packed despite competition in the area speaks volumes about its popularity. Make sure to visit if you're in the area, and note that they only accept cash. The clean bathroom is also worth mentioning.
