A cosy family-feeling restaurant with delightful Italian food. <br/ <br/ Our antipasto was cuttlefish dressed in olive oil and vinegar, accompanied by pepper, zucchini and other vegetables. The cuttlefish was chewy and fresh.<br/ <br/ Our first main dish was the Bucatini with shrimps and clams. It met expectation as a pasta dish. <br/ <br/ Our second dish was the Battuta Di Maialino. The pork was well battered and grilled, and managed to retained its juice while being a bit crispy on the two sides.
Been there 5 times and the quality and service are tops. Everything is freshly made from ingredients bought that morning at the Jean Talon market. I dream about their entrées of gnocchi with mushrooms and truffles, and the eggplant parmigiano. Mains include the signature rabbit casserole, several pastas de jour, a fish dish and a beef dish (short ribs were amazing; bison filet tender and flavourful; tagliatelle with veal cheeks in bolognese sauce was divine). House wines by the glass are excellent at $10 and full bottles from $40 to $80. Introduce yourself to Dominic and Giovanni and feel like part of the family.
Great meal and service at this cozy, neighborhood restaurant. One of our waiters suggested that we start with a glass of one of their house wines, a Primitivo from Puglia it was superb: smooth yet very flavorful. We ordered pasta dishes, the tortiglioni pancetta caprino and a tagliatelle dish. Both were excellent. What brought the experience to a whole other level was the hospitality of the staff and owners. Julian and Michele treated us like kings! We'll definitely go back the next time we're in town.
Great. Expensive, but great food and service! Worth it!
