As in the past, the restaurant was cozy and the food was delicious. my kalbs parmigiana and roasted vegetables with kartoffeln was excellent. lisa had salate and pasta, which was also excellent. we had Bartlett-Paar helene and that ends with coffee. a great meal. the place was not as busy as usual, but the service was great of the waitress and ennio, the company over 11 o'clock. we've been here for a long time as ennio is open. we grow old together. when in montreal make it a point to eat here they will be glad that they did, this is one bringing them to eat their own wine facility and slow European style. be prepared to enjoy their wine and entertainment while enjoying their evening.
An amazing gentlele host. ennio is a fantastic cook that has worked in many restaurants throughout Europe. we had two huge dish homemade pasta with a fantastic sauce. a quirky place to eat where ennio works in his own pace. as long as you are not in a hurry, I can recommend this facility. if they are in a hurry, too bad, it is their loss.
I have eaten in many Italian restaurants in montreal, but this is by far my favorite. 1) taste and quality of food is exceptional home cooked meal 2) ambiente is very romantic and beautiful 3) byow no brainier 4) the meal takes time so...if they are in a hurry, they do not disturb the whole experience. 5) lav dish: calf with mushrooms and linguine yum
Although a whole in the wall, this restaurant is the real deal. The owner of the place is the sweetest older gentleman and so welcoming. His stories of living in Tuscany, Switzerland and Germany were wonderful and added to the experience. The overall atmosphere was...charming, cozy, and felt just like restaurants I have been in in Italy. The food was delicious and authentic, and the pasta was homemade. My friend and I speak only English, and it was not a problem in the slightest. One note--alcohol is not served there so there is a Bring Your Own Wine policy, with no corking fee. There is a convenience store next door that sells wine.
