I don't know what happened but I didn't complain because I was with a large party and our food arrived after such a long wait that I thought it would mess up the entire evening for everyone else. I had the fish of the day, which was perfectly cooked though over salted, and the orzo that came with it was completely cold. When I'm paying that much for dinner, I feel like everything should be perfect
Loved it! Had a lovely meal here starting with a beet salad, topped with a fat parmesan croquette that when opened, coated most of the salad. They happened to have halibut, which they grilled perfectly. It was served with some broccoli, asparagus, a pearl onion and some butternut squash purée. All lovely. As we hoped they had pasteles de nata for dessert. We were tempted to get the Portuguese dessert sampler for two, but the waiter advised that we'd want to still be pretty hungry to order it. Very nice meal, great waitstaff and a hopping, happening place!
Wow what a spot! We came from ottawa and a looked up a decent dinner place that was walking distance from our hotel.. it was a Tuesday night and this place was packed! As one of customers told us : it's an institution! Well service to begin with was respectful and to the point. He was pretty busy to serve other tables so a bit too efficient when taking the order! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and great. Started of with Salmon tartare and Burrata salad. Then for mains husband got the tuna, cooked to perfection, medium rare and bursting of flavour wow sized of carrot purée! I got the cod, with mushrooms and Since I can't have alcohol they happily substituted the sauce for me.. we needed this lovely meal with Portuguese desserts that was just perfect!
A beautiful restaurant in downtown Montreal featuring Portuguese influenced seafood and more. when our cab pulled up in front of Ferreira Cafe, it looked a little unassuming, but after stepping inside and seeing the stunning interior, we were very impressed. The menu is extensive with something for everyone, but we stuck to seafood. I had the Bouillabaisse and it was delicious. Everyone in my group had something different and everyone left happy. We chose two excellent wines from their Wine Spectator awarded list and capped dinner off with two of their fabulous dessert sampler plates. Top notch service. Fairly priced especially when the exchange rate is factored in. highly recommended.
Tasty, portugese flavored season prepared very artfully. Service was quick as well. Pricier option to go with colleagues or for a special night out. Had the sardines as appetizer followed by octopus main dish.
