They serve it up quickly, making it perfect for a quick meal in between metro trains. The food is simple, but delicious and a great value for the price. The special sauce they use is amazing. It's a great option for a quick grab-and-go meal when heading to or from the Atwater Metro. The area has recently been renovated, so it's well-lit and clean. I make sure to stop by and grab one of these sandwiches once a week.
This is not a typical chain deli. The deli recently got a new chef who has made some delicious changes to their homemade soups. The Friday pea soup is consistently very good, and during the week they serve a vegetable soup that reminds you of a home-cooked meal from your grandmother or mother. It has cabbage and other vegetables in it and just feels comforting. The pizzas, whether vegetarian or the special, taste the same, but everyone at the table noticed that the crust was not as burnt as it sometimes used to be - the chef must be keeping a closer eye on it now! The service staff has been slightly reduced, but they still work hard and provide quick and efficient service at noon. Overall, this deli is much better than the chain restaurant upstairs.
The kitchen staff at G A Deli work efficiently in tight quarters to get your food out quickly. During a busy lunch rush, our table of five had complicated orders but everything was served in less than ten minutes. The waitresses here have been dedicated to pleasing their customers for years, remembering regulars' preferences and making sure every visit is a pleasant experience. While the dessert selection is fairly standard, the rice pudding at G A Deli is a personal favorite. The deli coffee is just right, and the smoked meat is a standout dish. The menu offers a variety of options, including pizza combos and hearty sandwiches with sides. Located on the lower level of Alexis Nihon, G A Deli may have a small line during peak hours, but the wait is worth it for the quality of the food. The Friday pea soup is particularly popular and the Tom all dressed pizza is a must-try. Overall, G A Deli is a hidden gem in Montreal that's worth a visit for delicious, no-fuss Greek deli food.
G.A. is tucked away in the basement of Alexis Nihon Plaza you have to know it's there. The waitresses have mostly been there forever they know all their regulars' names, and they're professionals. The food is pretty diverse they have amazing brochettes,...homemade pizzas, smoked meat, omelettes, super homemade soups, and daily specials that'll bring you right back in time. My father goes there for the roast pork special as often as he can truly old-fashioned home cooking. As a vegetarian, I normally stick to a mushroom pizza or soup an omelette. It's always hot, fresh and made to order special requests can almost always be accommodated. Great coffee, nice ladies (the kind of service where it's a pleasure to leave a tip), comfy atmosphere it's the perfect deli and the prices are right. You might want to consider sharing any of the big platters, especially if you're there on a work lunch hour otherwise you might need to be wheelbarrowed home.
Who knew you could find such a good deli in a basementWell in this case you may want to go a level underground to G.A
