It looks like it can handle maximum 25 people but there is a room at the back that could hold another 25 more. We were served by the owner who was patient, friendly and very informative regarding the various dishes we were curious about. One of the meals we ordered was a shrimp paste and she explained exactly how it should be eaten and my my it was delicious. The prices are great and the portions are excellent. I am definitely suggesting this restaurant to other people.Sidenote: They are closed between the hours of 3pm-5pm to prepare for second service which is until 9pm
My friend and I split two Table d’Hotes. As she doesn’t like spicy food, we ordered mild dishes. They were good, but too mild for me (not the restaurant’s fault). We had shrimp in a ginger sauce, and some kind of chicken with vegetables (not sure which item it was on the menu...see below). It was all very good. I had an imperial roll, which I really liked. It was very large – the size of at least 2 normal spring rolls. What I didn’t like was the menu – there was no description, only menu listings such as “chicken with vegetables.” I had to ask the waitress to explain what was in each dish, what kind of sauce it had, etc., and after she explained a few, I couldn’t remember one from another.Service was ok. The decor was not inspiring. I would prefer a place with more atmosphere.
My wife and I took a risk on this charming little restaurant on Cote de Neige and it paid off "big time." We let the server choose our meal. We had a kind of chicken soup but this had the most tender chicken and shrimps I ever had (Even in Bangkok). The second dish was a beef and was also excellent. Came with a bowl of rice. Portions are large but not too large. Just perfect. So many wonderful layers of flavor (Tamarind, lemon grass, etc) that even Thailand could not compare. Prices are reasonable and service friendly. You must try this. You will thank me.I will be back !
Just beside the better known but very overcrowded Pho Lien this is a real find in Côte des Neiges for savoury Vietnamese food. A small family run restaurant but super friendly with many Asian customers. We agree that it does taste like old Vietnam. Rolls are super and the vermicelli dishes quite ample for dinner. Owner says she will have wine license soon which would be helpful. A simple almost too plain decor (like real Vietnam) but well worth a visit.
We came to this restaurant after the hospital visit. We wanted to go to pho lien but it's closed on Tuesday. I ordered a medium pho and when I saw the portion, I thought it was a kids meal and the taste was not authentic at all. My husband ordered a beef lemongrass with vermicelli lunch set and it was not good either. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant
