This isn't your high end place to eat, but the location is great. Smack in the middle of the center of Old Montreal which is the draw here. Mostly pizzas and only 2 pasta dishes - spaghetti or lasagna. I had the lasagna which was really tasty. Tons of tourists eating here - I'm suspecting the locals wouldn't dine here. Just OK food but not much to choose from...other than pizzas and sandwiches. What I hated was the bathrooms were filthy! I would opt for another place next time.... We enjoyed people watching while eating.
We had the Montreal style smoked meat sandwiches and were pleased that both the meat and the bread were better than another place we ate at previously that claimed to specialize in this item.
Delicious pizza...one pie large enough for 2. Right on Jacque Cartier Place. Very busy. Tables are movable to accommodate different size parties. Genial waitstaff.
We stopped here after walking through Old Montreal on an empty stomach. The menu is varied and everyone in my party of six found something appealing so we made the decision to take a seat at the plastic tables and chairs on an outside patio. A couple of us opted for the smoked meat sandwich and others a burger and steak sandwich for entrees and also some nachos and a trio sampler as an appetizer. The smoked meat sandwiches seemed to be mostly pastrami, the burgers were frozen patties and so were the appetizers which were mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and onion rings. On the plus side my burger came with freshly sauteed mushrooms and a pretty tasty cheddar. The fries were tasty and hot and my beer was cold and full of carbonation. Our waitress was one who didn't feel the need to write down our somewhat complicated order AND drinks for six. In the end she forgot a couple orders of poutine, a couple of other sides and was less than attentive to our table leaving me to get up multiple times to get salt & pepper mayo, ketchup and napkins. All items that should have been put on the table when we sat down and placed an order. The best part (insert sarcastic tone) was when I got up to get ketchup and our waitress was off to the side smoking a cigarette looking at her phone. Overall the food was okay albeit a bit pricey for what we received and the service was, from our waitress at least, poor. The other waitstaff seemed a bit more on point.
