Le Fantome - Montréal

My boyfriend and I have this goal to go to a restaurant that offers a tasting menu on each trip we go on! Le Fantome was our choice when we went to Montreal, and we enjoyed it very much.It was a bit pricey but it was a great experience. The food was very good! and the wine pairing was even better!The service was good too, I completely forgot the names of the guy and the girl assisting us (it's been more than a month that we went there), but I remember both of them were super nice and attentive! The hostess didn't look that happy to be there, though. The decor is very nice. The place is cozy, and I loved the candles! I think they reuse them. Awesome.Le Fantome was about a block away from where we were staying, so that was a plus! No need to spend money on uber when a bit tipsy =P Definitely recommend.

I found Le Fantome after perusing Montreal food blogs for inventive, fun places. We had an excellent meal - the tasting menu and delicious cocktails. Superb and attentive service; each course was explained to us with enthusiasm. The shared shots at the end, as well as the additional touches and what I would call the apres amuse-bouches, gave the whole experience a magical feel.

Si vous désirez découvrir un restaurant avec 1 menu dégustation pour seul menu et qu'à la fois vous voulez découvrir de nouvelles choses, c'est le restaurant où il faut aller manger .............j'oubliais une salle superbe ( je vous conseille de manger au bar pour voir se mouvoir les équipes en cuisine), un service sans faute. En plus du menu dégustation faites le saut aussi avec l'accord mets et vins, ça en vaut la peine ....on y retourne ? = un grand OUI !

Maintenant en formule menu mais un menu qui se réinvente de visite en visite. Une cuisine raffinée et maitrisée. Un service chaleureux sans prétention. Un resto que nous fréquentons depuis son ouverture et jamais nous n'avons été déçus.

We have selected le fantome for a special start on a trip to montreal. when we explored places to eat, we had the impression that this restaurant has served only or above all a tasting menu that has changed. the menu is now a la carte and they...they position themselves as more of a neighboring restaurant for everyday. I could probably imagine becoming a rule when I lived close. the dining room is small, dim and cozy. service friendly and attentive. when we said that they did not offer a tasting menu, our server offered us to prepare a discovery menu. this consisted of his favorite dishes from the published menu in a progression. some of the highlights were the homemade sourdough bread and a grilled cauliflower salad. for dessert they surprised us with an additional cure after the dessert we offered - such a thoughtful gesture! my thought is that le fantome has now opened with her new sister restaurant pastel and served a daily tasting menu to swing a slightly more casual format. that is not a bad thing, but the guests should know what to expect, as this seems a change from the years before. nevertheless this was a pleasant eating in a pleasant atmosphere and we enjoyed our visit.
