Contribuisci feedbackAnother great dinner with friends in the nil bleu! the doro wot seasoned and aromen were well balanced, the injera was light and fresh, the vegan combination was also appreciated by my guests! as expected we waited a little longer for the kitfo, but. it was worth it: delicious! also the inkspot South African wine was an excellent recommendation. desserts that we loved: chocolate cakes and lemons! thank you. nil bleu, see you soon!
For almost 15 years go to the Nile with the family and it is always a wonderful experience. The food is from this world and the ambience takes you away, really magical. Ask question
The service was too slow, but for most diners that would be eliminated down factor as soon as the restaurant compensates for their waiting time for a delicious and fresh meal, that was not the case in this restaurant. an hour and a half later I have received...a meal that has gone bad smells terrible, tipp for all her foods most Ethiopian meal requires hours and hours to specially prepare her “Doro Wot” w/c is chicken stable, do not expect it to be fresh and from the same day” so if they ever visit nilbleu that I will never stay with the restaurants
I'm disappointed that I didn't love this restaurant, but it didn't meet my expectations. To begin in this area of Montreal, many restaurants are “Apportez Votre Vin”, which is a fantastic opportunity for guests to save money. Nil Bleu does not offer... this function. The decor is dark and eclectic, but in any case plays on stereotypical African decor Maasai hunters on art, zebra patterned upholstery, carved wood giraffes. 2023 is a little outdated. Our service was perfunctory and indeed, a long wait for our appetizers. Our waiter was most animated when we saw our 18% tip and wished us a bonsoir. My companion and I ordered the tasting menu with meat. We quickly filled the Injera and must have packed most of our main course for home. Flavors were just fine nothing remarkable. A dessert of chocolate cake seemed prepacked and made site. Similar quality as when buying a bakery in a grocery store. Again, nothing remarkable. I wish I had gone to Le Virunga instead. I was on the fence, but thought the novelty of food with our hands would be unique. Sure. But the flavors, service and decor just didn't wake us up. Seeing marketed for tourists and visitors, as much better opportunities in a culinary city as here.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal traditional and delicious platters of a wide range of dishes. Everything is enjoyable, from the hot hand towels on arrival, the friendly and efficient staff, and reasonable prices. Especially enjoy their Injera teff bread, and...the many vegan options. Highly recommended.
