I am very picky (there are a lot of stuff that I do not eat) and the staff have been so nice, patient and accommodating with me: they made me a semi-vegetarian plates with items to replace salmon, duck and foie gras. Everything was good, especially the ham and cucumber sandwiches and the desserts! Their scones were moist and fluffy. The tea selection is interesting, we had a hard time making a choice because there were so many good choices. Their Earl Grey Crème and Peach Apricot tea were fantastic. My only tiny complaint is that there are no A/C in the tea room. They do what they can with fans but it's still a little warm in the tea room during summer. I will definitely go back.
This little gem is located on l'avenue Christophe Columb in what appears to be a tenement building street. A simple sign and window mark it's location, but don't let that fool you. Inside is a cozy, warm peaceful setting to escape the hustle and bustle of Montreal if only for an hour or two. The hostesses are extremely pleasant and friendly, toute bilingual, and the prices are reasonable for high tea. The Scones with Devonshire Cream were amazing, and the tea selection is fantastic! I never tried a smoked peat tea, but it was delightful. I was even served by Betty Boop!
I visited Le Parloir for the first time recently with my son; we went for the afternoon tea during the weekend. Everything was delicious! Special mention to the foie gras and confit de canard. The scone and Devon cream were to die for. They also have a great selection of teas. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back for the brunch soon!
I highly recommend this beautiful little place for hosting a baby shower, which is what I did for my daughter recently. To make it worthwhile, you have to buy the place out, generally between 2 and 5, and the owner will charge you the high tea price of $26 per person, for 24 guests. So if you intend to be around that number, it is really a nice change from someone's living room or deck. Our guests were thrilled with the old school fine china teacups and saucers, the delicious varieties of the best tea anyone ever had and the multi-tiered platters generously laden with savoury delights on first serving and terrific sweet bites on the second. The only slight negative is the parking around this area is a huge challenge. One of our guests was lucky enough to have a spot right across the street but others had to go around the block a few times. However it is super close to a metro! They are used to having showers organized here so the owner, Sylvie, will guide you through it on the phone, i.e, what time to arrive to decorate if you want to, she can even store (and serve) any beverages you might want, as we offered sparkling wine (no alcohol variety for the mums to be of course) and everyone was really pleased. I highly recommend it!
