However, I did notice a limited selection of vegetarian or vegan options for the main course. While the prices are reasonable, they may be slightly on the higher side considering the portion sizes. The service was friendly and there was no pressure to leave a hefty tip. This may not be an everyday dining spot due to the prices, but it is a great choice for those craving authentic Italian cuisine in Montreal. I highly recommend trying the cavatelli with sausage and the buffalo as an appetizer, as they were both delicious.
As ovo lacto vegetarians who adore Italian cuisine, we had been eyeing Luciano for a visit during our short trip to Montreal. Unfortunately, they were closed for vacation until the night before we were set to leave. After an email exchange, we were able to secure reservations for their reopening night. Despite a hectic rush hour Uber ride due to construction, we made it to this hidden gem located just 15-20 minutes outside of the city center. The casual ambiance suggested by the street side garage doors was quickly overshadowed by the bustling atmosphere of their first night back, indicating the delicious food to come. We were pleasantly surprised with grilled bread to start, followed by an extensive wine selection available by the glass or bottle. Our appetizer of caprese, gnocchi for my wife, and cacio e pepe for myself were all exceptional and left us thoroughly impressed.
My wife and I ate supper at Luciano's on a Saturday night. It was a great experience. This small Italian restaurant hits all the right notes. The atmosphere is fun and the service was great. We shared a tripe appetizer, prepared with spicy tomato sauce excellent! We each ordered a plate of different pasta, with her trying a spaghetti with a bolognese and me having a short past with a white veal ragu sauce. Both were excellent. Highly recommended if you want to try authentic Italian food. A must try!
There is nothing negative on the food. The Pastas are fantastic. Hoever they are a bit overpriced taking into account the surroundings.
We love Italian food. Last night we enjoyed an amazing meal at Luciano’s. Only to be compared to the best we’ve enjoyed in Italy. It’s family run and you can tell from the moment that you walk in the door. Everyone is smiling and genuinely happy to see you. It’s like walking into a home. So needless to say the service is excellent. Only to be out done by the food. I think we ordered half the menu and every item was “excellent”, I mean over the top! The guy behind the stove is the owner, an amazing Chef! Everything, pasta, red sauce etc is made in house and it shows. It’s a bit of a ride from downtown but 100% worth it. If you call for reservations the message is in French but don’t hesitate to leave your message in English they will respond. I also recommend sitting at the bar. We will definitely go back every time we visit Montréal!
