Her mussels in cream sauce, beef tar and beef bourguignon are some of the biggest meals I had in my life, and the prices are incredibly good for the quality of food, not to mention their absolutely amazing staff. The staff is not only extremely professional, but also friendly and helpful in any way possible. I would drive 7 hours from Toronto every day to eat here if I had the time.
In this place for V-Day and above all it was a beautiful experience. Place has a lively atmosphere with impeccable service. There was a misunderstanding about one of the meals and they were happy to change it to what we had in mind. The food was well presented, well cooked, delicious and fresh. We had the oysters that were very fresh and served with different spices, fish soup that was tasteful, beautiful consistency and well heated, the beef cheek that came with an assortment of vegetables and an ingenious severity, although the meat was a tad dry and finally the saffron bougais that was an explosion of flavors. Only criticism was that the tables were too close, almost 15cm apart, so it was a little unpleasant, especially with a loud family with children next to us.
Fantastic place and maybe some of the best cuisine in the city. Up, but safe. The atmosphere is also very welcoming for Anglophone. The service was excellent and professional and friendly, which can be rare in this scale of restaurants. The food portions were generous for the price, but also for a layman like me was an excellent way to build my pallet. By far the best tasting I had during my trip. I felt compelled to have three courses despite the price because I wanted to try as much as possible. Also vegetarian options. Good location, close enough to popular tourist places in the city. Washing rooms, however, are single rooms.
The duck cover was very delicious. the bed of carpets and accompanying potatoes balances the plate. The onion soup had a good amount of cheese, it was also good. The staff was friendly. Place was elegant and clean. Recommended place to eat in Old Montreal.
The food here is amazing. My favorite is the Octopus appetizer. The sauce with caper is just so good on this octopus. Duck confit and Beef Stew are also good. The peppery taste of arugula really balance out the richness of the duck. Service is also great.
