The service here is exceptional; the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding as well. My girlfriend is usually not a fan of French cuisine, but we successfully convinced her to give it a try. Highly recommend!
I only had 30 minutes between meetings, but Bruno's recommendation of a spicy steak tartare paired with a delightful Pinot made my afternoon. Plus, I managed not to be late!
The food:The baguette was served cold. The duck breast is way too chewy, it’s sauce is also too sweet and confusingly watery. The butternut squash is so weird that I don’t even know where I should start commenting on. So as the the risotto which has an unacceptable sour-like taste. The service:No one ever bother hanging the coat for us although there are plenty of space for it. I also asked a lady if she can hang the coat for us but she said we can put the coat on the chair. She also mentioned that we can hang the coats but she just left after saying that and never came back for that.We didn’t finish the butternut squash, the duck breast, and the risotto. The server didn’t even ask why, I guess they just don’t care how customer think about their food.Overall:It’s obviously over priced. I had to stop eating after a few bites because I can feel that my throat is trying to stop me from feeding it with this so-called “food”. I just dined at a French restaurant yesterday in Quebec City. It’s service, food, and creativity is thousands times better than this one while the price is almost the same as Leméac.
We went there couple of times and last time it was for our anniversary. We love it! Both the steaks and desserts are very good.We tried beef tartare for the first time and it was really good and refreshing. Rib eye is always good and cooked to perfection. I think it’s better without the sauce that comes with it. Mashed potatoes also passed the test. For dessert, we always take pain perdu and rum baba. Both are very good. Pain perdu is not heavy and is very well balanced. If you are going for more fruity and fresh dessert, go with rum baba. We tried most of the other desserts too before but these two never failed. For coffee we liked americano better than filter coffee. Again good combo for the desserts. The ambiance is good. We love the tables next to the window. The staff is friendly and fast. Compared to the other french fine dinings, we really like Lemeac and it’s worth what we paid for. Thanks for the experience!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarians will be very happy with the desserts : .
