Le Splendid - Montreuil-Bellay

Don't be fooled by the façade of this restaurant. On a side street. A small bar area is not larger than my living room. A table outside with some plastic chairs. But we (a group of 4 ladies) liked the look of the...menu and “terrasse” was mentioned on the board. We asked ourselves “Le Terrasse”. My goodness, a huge area with a fish and a waterfall. So we stayed. We were not disappointed. A 3-course menu was served for 23 euros. Eating was a Michelin star worthy, the waitress was very professional and friendly. Wine was selected and we were offered to taste before we pour. Icing on the cake was when we went to settle the bill, and the cartridge gave us a bottle of a very beautiful sour red to take with us. Will definitely be back.

The hotel is located in a hotel behind the tourist office English menu, nice waitress excellent reasonable 4 curs dinner $20 recommended

We stopped here and eat twice in 3 days. We chose the menu of the day and were very satisfied with our choice. Friendly staff. Good red and white wine from Saumur.

Have eaten their twice when no other choice. Both times a great disappointment.Food not exciting in any way,decor not good. One to miss

This was the first restuarant we found that was actually open! So captive customers, no competition! The suroundings were pleasant enough although it was a little dark inside, the service was good. The food was decidedly average with small portions and tough thin steak, I...would not bother going back.
