The fish ravioli dish my wife had was also excellent. The service was attentive and charming and we thoroughly recommend seeking out this little gem of a restaurant - we can assure you will not be disappointed.
San Luca is a very new restaurant in the premises previously occupied by La Locanda. It’s tucked away up the Ruella de Trait, just off the Avenue de Casino and just before the Casino bus stop if you’re travelling in the direction of Villeneuve. It may not be easy to find (although it’s no more than a five minute walk from the Place du Marché), but it really is a ‘find’!Marco and his friendly staff go out of their way to please you as soon as you enter the door (there are also a few tables for eating outside). On our first visit, we shared the recommended and excellent pasta (filled with scallops) and a fish salad, which was generously supplied with smoked salmon and perch (a speciality on Lake Geneva) and other seafood. We loved the restaurant so much that we returned for a second and third visit during our short stay in Montreux. On the second visit we shared a pizza and a mixed salad; La Locanda had a reputation for serving the best pizzas in town and San Luca fully deserves to inherit the title. The restaurant serves wine by the glass, with some in 50cl bottles and others in the usual 75cl bottles. We tried both the Mavum red and white wines from the Venice area and they were excellent. Above all, eating and drinking at the San Luca is much better value for money than dining by the lake. If you visit Montreux, have your first meal at San Luca; if you do, you may not want to eat anywhere else.
We were looking for a good italian pizza place and were very happy with La Locanda! The Pizza Parma was fantastic, as were the drinks. The staff was very hospitable and constantly checking in on us.
It has a lot of charm, located in a little pedestrian street. We were a bit disappointed with the food, not bad, bad not special neither. Very average...
Highly recommend, amazing homemade pasta. "Best bolognese ever" according to son and he's had a lot!
