To be fair the staff was typical small town friendly. The atmosphere was small town friendly. This is what I expected. Fine with me and my wife. Now my wife had the meatballs and a house salad. She commented WOW . As for me it 's another story. This place is not Italian, pizza shop yes. I had veal parm. This dish was probably the worst thing I have ever tried. But I got lots of it. I really can 't describe the concoction!!. This place should remove at least 1/2 of the menu items. As I was watching the other customers I observed many customers not finishing and just leaving the uneaten food. Happy environment. Remember this place is not an Italian restaurant by any sense of your imagination. Be prepared for the worse, and hope for the best. Will we go back probably, and try the pizza. Buona Fortuna!! Typically the only restaurant in Montross over the holidays, they do a brisk business. Food is always satisfying. Huge portions and reasonable prices. Have enjoyed both pizza and regular menu items. If you are hungry they have it. You could visit five times and have something in a different category of cuisines each time.

Great food for an eatery that has been the heart of Montross for decades. Family owned and operated. You really can't go wrong there.
