Bistro style dishes the local speciality fouees, but also whitebait, steak, fish salads. Very friendly helpful staff you can sit outdoors at the top of the boat. Lovely way to spend an evening at very reasonable prices.
There was four of us and we all had the best time the food was great we didn't have to wait long before the meals arrived the waitress we very friendly, Night was a little windy and two other tables had the wine glasses blown over and the staff replace the drink with charge. we watched the sun go down over the river and the Chateaux
I always wish TA had a rating between 'Average ' and 'Very Good '. This place is better than average but wouldn 't call it very good. We were staying on Montsoreau for a week and went down for our evening meal mid-week quite early on. It is a converted boat moored quite close to the chateau. There are some tables on the open deck at the back of the boat, and some tables inside. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside. We didn 't need to book. The food was solid traditional French stuff. There was an offer on Moule Frites which is a family favourite and which 3 of us went for. The Rillettes d 'Anjou à l 'Ancienne was a good slolid starter. The food was good. Not fussy or spectacular but good and not as expensive as some of the other local eateries. Service was friendly too.
Restaurant Péniche. Very unusual. You will be very well received to discover the specialties of the region. The fools, squirrels and many other things. The fries are excellent. And especially the landscape of the Loire and its sunset, gives this setting a very relaxing place.
Certainly the dish and the frame are top. However, it is flying on drinks and desserts. Heineken 25cl canette beer at 3.90€ with syrup supplement, of course! And €6.90 to eat a pralined ice rock bought all ready. In short, outside the setting you can find elsewhere, don't stop in this restaurant
