I had been to the No. 1 China Buffet and was not impressed with their buffet, everything was lukewarm and dried out. I was seated in a booth, ordered a drink and off to the buffet. When I got back, the waitress had my iced tea ready for me. I tried the salmon, mixed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, zucchini carrots), steamed clams, stuffed mushrooms and spring rolls. Everything tasted fresh and hot...and it also was very good!! When I went to get another plate, when I came back my Iced Tea was refilled! I tried some dessert; éclair, coffee sponge cake and a slice of almond pie...everything tasted very good. When I was eating I watched the restaurant personnel keeping the trays filled up and I was impressed.<br/ <br/ So impressed that two days later I went back to NY Hibachi Buffet and Grill. And I was just as good as the last time I tried the buffet. Excellent service and a good buffet. Next time I am going to try the sushi!
Pretty Good Buffet. Tried this restaurant for the first time last Saturday but it's a streach to call it a first time. This up until recently was Eiko Habachi and while there are some new menu items and servers, not much has changed. What has changed however is for the better. Service is better with at least a couple of new servers, a couple of new menu items and most importantly, portions are not as large on the buffet table while means they have to be refilled more frequently hence fresher and less dried out food.<br/ <br/ I enjoyed the buffet with it's wide selection including a number of Asian Seafood dishes. Soups were great with good flavor and texture. The Hot and Sour Soup in particular was excellent.<br/ <br/ My server indicated it was her first night there. If that's the case, she is going to go far because every need was met, her suggesions for menu items and sauces to try were right on target. Her recommendations made the culinary experience very interesting. I wish other restaurants had more servers like her.<br/ <br/ Dinner was a bit rushed so I did not get a chance to try as many dishes as I would have liked. That only means I'm going to have to schedule another trip to fully enjoy all of the offerings.<br/ <br/ I will be back.
The food on the buffet is almost always hot and fresh and there 's plenty of variety. The people are nice. Many that I 've spoken to during our many visits over the years have trouble understanding if you need to as a question. On a previous trip I tried asking if any of the sauce options for the grill do not have sugar, and the nice cook lady did not know or understand. Today I ordered a couple soups to go when we arrived so they 'd be ready before we were done eating, and they never came to the table. I thought they 'd be up front, but the nice lady up front had not asked for them to be made 'but they 're quick, just 3-5 minutes. ' Any minutes are hard when you 're on your own with two children so it would have been nice if they 'd been ready. But regardless, the people are nice and the food is good. We won 't stop coming just for any of these misunderstandings! My kiddos also like the ice cream on the way out :
Food is great! Many choices.. atmosphere is laid back..Average buffet cost around $11.
All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a great place for family or low-key date. We ate at 3 pm, and fresh food came out at 4 pm. So the chicken buffet items were a bit chewy and dry. Everything else was great. They need a cleaner ladies' bathroom.
