We got seated right away, and there were plenty of empty seats in the place. We sat down around 3:50. About 10 minutes later, someone finally took our drink order. And about 10 minutes later, someone finally came and took our food order. And finally about 4:35, we finally got our food. It was decent, but it wasn't worth the wait. I Now, on the other hand, the reason it's getting 3-stars is because the Blackberry Margarita was the best thing ever! I may give it a try again, but based on today's experience, I wouldn't .
We visit this little restaurant downtown often. I love the two different salsas they bring and one of them is really warm! Most salsa in Mexican places have no bite unless you ask for a really hot one, but this is pleasingly warm. They have outdoor seating on a covered patio which is very pleasant when the weather is good. We mostly eat inside because the chairs don't look comfortable to me. The wait staff is efficient and kind and the food is always really good. We get queso dip nearly every time and it is always heated properly and delicious. Their chimichangas are awesome and the kids love the Pollo con Crema. Great, solid Mexican fare and very reasonable prices. Be careful of the steep parking spots in the front!
The Food was Great the Drinks were Great! Thanks Marcus for great service. Tabbing Out spoiled the entire meal. They upcharged us and refused to give us the menu price. They said they have had lots of complaints but would not honor the menu price. Too Bad we thought we found a Great Spot.
No social distancing enforcements. All tables in use and full. People sitting at the bar and drinking. 8 people in line for takeout (all masked). No one was working the bar, so getting takeout orders was very slow. I could see my food bagged up behind the counter, but no one was helping takeout customers. Waited inside for 15 minutes to pay for and receive our order. Fish burrito is so darn good, though.
Not worth the $75 my wife and I just spent. We've been meaning to try this place and certainly won't be back. The food was lack luster at best. My wife's tacos were flavorless and pathetic. Her fish taco was down right awful. My chimichanga was soggy and overly packed with rice, barely any actual meat. In fact, the food came out so quickly that I'm not surprised with the awful quality. The margaritas were decent but very salty. The waitress was a real lifeless gem. She was rude to my wife, she didn't bring us water or silverware. Other than the food coming out almost instantly, she was incredibly slow and never showed an ounce of concern with our dining experience. But hey, the chips and salsa were good... if you're looking for GOOD Mexican, do yourself a favor and go to La Unica. Don't waste your money here.
