Our waiter, Luis, was excellent. Despite living in Lafayette, we find that the meal experience at this restaurant surpasses most places in town. We recently had linguini and clams at a restaurant in Lafayette on Mt Diablo Blvd on Friday, and although it was a nice place, we only received 6 clams. Tonight, we had more clams than we could eat for the same price. My husband enjoyed a wonderful pasta dish as well. Amoroma is truly a hidden gem and Luis will take great care of you. The restaurant was decent but slightly expensive for the quality. With some adjustments to the menu and ambiance, it could be outstanding. It seems to be banking too heavily on its Lafayette/Moraga location. Overall rating: Food (3), Service (2), Atmosphere (4). Price range: $50-100 per person for dinner.
I ordered the veal cannelloni dish at this restaurant, expecting to find roasted veal inside. However, what I received was a dish with a ton of sauce, baked cheese, and a strange mixture that included white overcooked meat paste. It was not delicious and reminded me of a microwaved frozen ready meal. I have had good food at this restaurant before, but this experience was disappointing. I will not be returning. The service was acceptable, with a rating of 4 out of 5, and the atmosphere was also decent, with a rating of 4 out of 5.
We love Amoroma and are so happy it has remained in Moraga for so many years. We eat there (either in restaurant or take out) about once a week, and have never had a bad meal. The food is delicious and the service great!
The food is authentic. Excellent. Add the fact that the service and welcoming attitude of the staff makes this our favorite local restaurant. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
