Ameer Tandoori Restaurant - Moreland

Have eaten here numerous times and haf take away. Very good quality however there is an inconsistency with the amount of meat in the dishes. All of it very tasty though! Best in the west !!

We first tried Ameer more than 20 years ago, and I guess it's been through a few owners since those days.We hadn't been to Ameer for a couple of years, since we lived nearby, fancied Indian, and had done the few near to our current residence, so thought Ameer was worth another look.There seemed to be more tables than I recalled, a little too close for my liking, but there were very few occupied, unusual, I thought, for a Sunday night?We ordered Lamb Madras, a vego, a piece of Garlic Naan, and steamed rice for two, along with a Kingfisher lager, and a glass of Sav Blanc.Mains including meat were generally a touch under $20.00,and the veg dishes a little less. The total for our meal and drinks, a second glass of white, was $65.00, not too bad in 2017.Both mains were tasty, and a sufficiently large serve, but I thought the rice for two could have been a little more generous.The service was fast enough, and friendly.My opinion is that Ameer is still better than the average for Indian restaurants, and worth my recommendation.

Quick service, bonus couple of papadams which was great :) really loved the Beef Vindaloo however could have been a bit hotter ( I wasn't asked at the time of ordering so thought it may have just been a standard).

I've been coming here on and off for 16 years and although it's changed hands, the food is still ripper authentic and there's a great variety to choose from. If you like hot, they will accommodate nicely. The Beef Vindaloo is delicious

We had a lovely meal here with our three teenagers. All the dishes were delicious (and generous portions too -- we took leftovers home with us) and the staff provided attentive but unobtrusive service. We will be going again, no doubt, as Ameer is close to home and great quality.
