East Keilor Rsl - Moreland

A typical RSL about sums it up... nothing wrong but nothing outstanding. The food was good and tasty, the kitchen must get swamped because we were told to get in and order quickly. Not a large venue so it got pretty packed. Worth a drop in if you are in the area but I wouldn't travel just to go there.

Attended on a Saturday night. A good range of selections on the menu. It was a very busy night but the meals came out in fairly good time. I had ordered a medium rare steak, sadly it was more on the well done side. The accompanying salad was very ordinary. The steak and sauce were placed on top of the chips making them very soggy. I wouldn't rush back

As members of the RSL we have frequented the bistro often and all meals have been very good and good value for money. The menu is large and varied with a seniors menu also. Members receive a small discount on meals but the regular prices are on par with a good hotel bistro meal. Staff are friendly and efficient. You order and pay for your meal at the bistro/kitchen and it is delivered to your table when ready. There are a couple of weekly special nights such as Tuesday for pot and Parma ($15.00) and steak night on Saturday (around $20.00 for a steak and a glass of wine). Drinks are very reasonably priced. Non members are welcome.

Recent dinner in the Bistro with family, restaurant was busy when we arrived shortly before 7.00pm and nearly empty an hour and a half later. The porterhouse steak was cooked as ordered and was tasty enough, but let down by the accompanying salad, a few semi limp lettuce leaves and very ordinary chips straight out of a packet. My guest had fish which was fine but the rest of the meal was quite average. It was the first time we had eaten at this RSL and would not rush back. For a local meal I prefer the Linc in North Essendon. We have had meals at a number of RSL clubs while travelling around Australia and the recent meal was not up to par.

This is my local RSL and the bistro is always good. there are specials on most nights, and also have a seniors menu. The food is always of a decent size and good quality. Great place to take the family for dinner
