Il Mondo Cafe - Moreland

After a previous great breakfast at Il Mondo Caffe some time ago, travel arrangements provided the opportunity to try the tempting lunch options seen previously. My selection of the Vegetarian Eggplant Parmigiana with Neapolitan Sauce and crisp Garden Salad was soooo good. The combination of pride in food quality, presentation, reasonable prices and smiling, helpful staff make me wish that this café was closer to home so I could have a meal here more often than just for a travel stop.

With time to spare between our early morning V-line train and onward No 500 bus connection to nearby Tullamarine Airport, we chose to spend time at the Broadmeadows Shopping Centre.Il Mondo’s breakfast service begins at 9.00am daily; we were famished after our early morning departure from home, and the reasonably priced Il Mondos large, freshly prepared, delicious bacon and egg Focaccia was perfect. Cappuccino coffee was delicious, milky and frothy, the lunch display tempting also.Chilled tap water and glasses freely available for customers, a great alternative to bottled water. The customers were mostly local, regular customers, obviously happy to start their day at this cafe.

They say looks can be deceiving and so it is true in the case of Il Mondo Café.

I ordered a simple coffee, but this place gets 5 stars for the friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee as well. Keep up the great work - I will definitely be coming back again!
