Club-Merkhamdise is welcome for those who eatdon through thick and...then visitors are welcome. the windy hill is by the way just a short walk from the train station Essendon.
We had a party of 16, with 10 of us being vegetarian. I had checked with the restaurant beforehand about their vegetarian options and they were fantastic. They even had a special menu with additional vegetarian options. Everyone was happy to see we had plenty of choices. The meals were generously portioned and delicious as always. The plant-based burger was particularly tasty! Thank you, Windy Hill. Go Bombers!
Came here with 10 others who regularly meet around the region Essendon moonee ponds. if they are looking for large portion sizes, then this is the place to come. Even I, who eats a lot, found the sizes extra generous. that's great, however, his...not cheap with my three lamb jewelry with ground engraving in a pot and chips and a small bowl salat costs $27ish. my friends swarm was also great, but he couldn't finish everything. the senior menu is very good and with only 15 months until I qualify, I will try to out the smaller portio sizes. certainly the option of pornstars, pornstars or pornstars, dessert and entree to a much more reasonable price I would tempt. the personal was nice and fast to remove our plates as soon as we were finished. there are also pokies and all the luck side of the dinge. note: wheelchair accessible, disabled accessible, child-friendly, reasonable parking.
It has been a while since the Essendon Football Club played its last Australian Football League game, but Essendon and Windy Hill are still closely associated. The stadium is still in use, although not by the team. Many fans lament the fact that all AFL games in Melbourne are now played at just two city venues, with the suburban grounds being left behind. The days of a full crowd at Windy Hill, with passionate Bombers supporters cheering as their team dominates the opposition, are no longer. However, interstate fans can still catch a glimpse of the stadium and reminisce about the glory days.
Today, we enjoyed lunch at the Windy Hill dining room. The setup was comfortable and the staff were polite. The senior's meals are a great value - a two course meal for $16.50, which includes a choice of a drink (beer, house wine, or soft drink). I started with bruschetta and then had a generous serving of lamb's fry and bacon with plenty of veggies. One of my companions opted for the roast of the day, a large portion of roast beef, while another went for grilled fish with chips and salad. The social club also offers a popular gaming room and a PubTAB. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is a full service bar for all to enjoy.
