Have always wanted to return but never got the opportunity till now. Sinoni is a restaurant that 's often confused with Silk Road Restaurant, because Silk Road is situated inside the Sinoki Building. See how you can easily mistake one for the other, or mix up the names? 'Sinoni ' versus 'Sinoki '! Besides, both are Chinese Restaurants, and located very close to one another in the Central Area of Abuja. Sinoni Restaurant had a pleasant ambiance, with classic Chinese decorative pieces, memorabilia and accoutrements. The chairs were covered in black cloth, and the tables had bright red table spreads. Though everything looked orderly and well-maintained, Sinoni 's furniture looked tired and outdated. They had several Private Rooms for private parties, events and gatherings, and an extremely vibrant bar area that immediately caught my eye when I walked into Sinoni. Their toilet was nice and clean. Sinoni is a very ordinary looking Chinese Restaurant, with nothing particularly notable or striking about it. I must call attention to the management of Sinoni about something that constantly bothered me throughout my time at their restaurant. When I walked into Sinoni Restaurant, I was immediately hit with the stench of body odour. This 'stink ' was foul and offensive, and it lingered in the air for almost the entire time I was at Sinoni. There weren 't any customers at the time, so this means the staff members are the culprits, therefore the employed 'folk ' need to 'deodorise '/observe some frickin ' personal hygiene at Sinoni! Another slight issue I had was that hard-core, classic R B tunes played over the airwaves throughout my time at Sinoni Restaurant. Songs by the likes of Usher, Mary J. Blige, Aaliyah, Joe, Tamia, Destiny 's Child, BTK and so on and so forth played on rotation. For a restaurant that exclusively serves Chinese cuisine and/or is a bona-fide, full fledged Chinese Restaurant, I felt that playing a calming, oriental instrumental type music would have been more commensurate with such a place. I must commend Sinoni Restaurant for providing me with a metal structure to hang my handbag on. What a cool contraption! That was a nice touch! Sinoni Restaurant has an impressive menu comprising of 5 COLD DISHES, 8 VEGETABLES, 9 DIM SUM, 11 STARTERS, 11 SOUPS, 4 LAMB MUTTON DISHES, 8 BEEF DISHES, 9 FISH ABALONE DISHES, 13 SEAFOOD DISHES, 14 POULTRY DISHES, 11 STAPLE FOODS, 5 DESSERTS, SOFT DRINKS, MOCKTAILS, COCKTAILS and lots of ALCOHOL and CHINESE LIQUER. I appreciated the fact that Sinoni presented me with a hard copy menu, as opposed to using a smatphone/iPhone to access it via that damn QR Code that I absolutely loathe! I also liked the table top bell you could press to call the server at any time. I was very hungry on this day so I ordered quite a lot! I got the SHRIMP MAYONNAISE SPRING ROLLS, RAINBOW STEAMED DUMPLINGS and a WONTON SOUP for my Starters/Appetisers. For my Main Meal, I ordered the PINEAPPLE SWEET SOUR PRAWNS, the STEWED OXTAIL IN SPICY SOY SAUCE and a BEEF FRIED RICE. For my drink, I got a CHINESE FIREBOLT MOCKTAIL, only because the name sounded really 'fly ' to me! The Soup and Starters appeared in short order. The Wonton Soup was really good, but a tad bit on the salty side. The Prawn Mayo. Spring Rolls on the other hand were horrible! The mayonnaise tasted like sour, creamy castor oil; a very weird and peculiar taste. The rolls were also quite flavorless. The Rainbow Dumplings were lackluster. I 'll say that I 've had better Dumplings in my lifetime. They tasted bland and too 'floury ', due to the thickness of the Dumplings. The Rainbow Dumplings looked beautiful though. Please refer to my posted pictures of them. They looked like dainty, colorful butterflies; almost too pretty to eat!
The place is amazing, not too expensive too. It's at garki, serves various kinds of delicious mealss
The thought of the fried rice still makes me salivate, honest.loved the basmatti and shrimp in sauce as well. My family and I knew it was all wonderful
So i had always wanted to taste Chinese food, one faithful day, i searched for Chinese restaurant in Abuja on google then i saw various options but sinoni caught my attention. i called a friend and we headed straight there, it was hard to locate the place though but i finally did and never regretted going there. the waitress who attended to my table was so nice, she even offered to take me pictures. i loved the dishes so much, i would advice anyone going there for the first time eat what seems like you understand..lol.. or ask the waiter for help.
