Yabby Lake Vineyard

The rather hearty front of the house meet and welcomes person recommended, can not order a cheeseboard when wine tasting. eat waiter left eating on table without a courtesy or customer care. instead, the visit is particularly dissatisfied after the great experience in stumpy gully, phaedras and mooroduc wineries. Will not be visited soon or never again!

Our celebration of my 72. birthday was as wonderful as I hoped. we had a great experience to taste wein with annie. we loved the pink sparkling rose a perfect start to lunch. Ente terrine and steak like kuchen waas superb. niva and abi were...sooo helpful.

I emailed ahead to see if they were open as our plans had changed due to Covid. We arrived a bit early and were warmly greeted at our table with views of the vineyard. Our waitresses were lovely and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had a fantastic lunch - the sparkling wine was excellent and the broccoli side dish was the best I've ever had. I was alone and waited at the bar for a tasting so I could purchase some bottles to take home. I always prefer buying directly from the cellar door when the experience is great, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. I waited for at least 10 minutes, while only a few other customers were served. Another salesman completely ignored me. I eventually moved to another area of the restaurant and asked someone for a tasting, which eventually worked out. I tried to buy a bottle of wine, but was told I couldn't purchase it without a car. I asked about taxis or buses, but received no assistance. I waited for half an hour, with the staff clearly aware of my presence. After a while, I mentioned to one of the vendors that I hoped I wouldn't have to spend the night there and asked for a ride. He suggested I sit on a chair instead of on the floor pallet. Unbelievable! I was at Yabby Lake for over an hour, struggling to get back to my accommodation, but was not offered any help. In the end, I had to call the previous winery I visited and they kindly drove all the way to pick me up and bring me back. This experience taught me that solo travelers cannot rely on cars, taxis, or service at Yabby Lake. I was grateful for the support from the staff at the previous winery. It's disappointing to see such a lack of support from the Yabby Lake staff. If it weren't for the help of other winery staff, I would have been left stranded at Yabby Lake. I hope they improve their customer service for future visitors.

I had a pleasant lunch at Yabby Lake with great service from the server. The menu had a good selection, but I found the portion sizes to be small for the price. The food was good, but I felt hungry again shortly after eating.
