There are only two employees working at Schooner's - a woman in her sixties and a man in his thirties. Despite offering $15 an hour, the woman mentioned that no one stays longer than a day or two before trying to collect unemployment. It is commendable how hard the woman works in a time when there is a shortage of good, hardworking people. Unfortunately, there are some individuals demanding the use of certain pronouns or they claim to hate America, which is truly disheartening.
My group and I visited the restaurant on a night when they were supposed to be open. According to their Google listing and the hours posted on the front door, they were supposed to be open. We parked in the back and saw another group entering through the back, but found out that there was a private party taking place and the rest of the restaurant was dark and closed.
I had a perfect experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the drink menu was excellent as well. I will definitely be coming back! I dined in for dinner and the price per person was between $30-$50. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5.
We had 2 orders of BBQ wings, half order of onion rings, and an order of French fries. All of that cost us $40, but the menu says it should have been like $30. The onion rings were overly greasy and tasted like burnt oil. The fries were hard and dry. The wings were okay, but the sauce had some weird after taste. I definitely think this place has gone downhill since not being open for dine in. Meal type: Dinner
