So we gave it a shot. Also, I want to add, I think the manager on duty or shift lead, tried to be sympathetic and tried to apologize but I 'm not sure if it was just to appease me or to get me out the door. Anyways... We were sat down, took a second but a young Hispanic girl came to get our drink order. I asked for sweet tea, per usual, she said they did not have it, I asked for coke, she said they did not have coke products, so I just chose something. Mind you, I 've tried other Mexican restaurants in the area and they were mediocre. I was told this was the best in the area, so someone at the table asked did they not have sweet tea on the menu or to just ask for future reference, it 's what we all prefer and are in the area frequently. She said oh we 're out of sugar. Now here is where there was some type of misunderstanding or language barrier... And I bring in race and clarify because that is what the issue was made about. My BLACK/PUERTO RICAN (Mixed race, however you would like to classify it, boyfriend made a joke, which he 's always trying to be funny and he always jokes with people, has decided to reply you guys need more black people, they never run out of sugar. I nudge him, because I ALWAYS do, not everyone always gets or catches on to HIS sense of humor. She continued to take our drink order and went to get them I assumed. And great while later, the MOD or shift lead came out and said I was told a racist comment was made at this table, I was surprised and a little thrown, she told me our waitress was in the back hysterical saying something completely different. I apologized for the miscommunication and even offered apologies and said if she 'd like one in person I was more than willing to apologize for the misunderstanding or for whatever she may of thought she heard, idk... The MOD said she would be right back. Forever goes by, at this point I figured we were still being served because she said she was coming back. Eventually we ask a table busser. She goes away, a young white guy comes out to inform us he was told we were to not be served. I was shocked and appalled because I hadn 't been told anything, and had never experienced anything like this. I said that 's fine, asked my table to return to the car but asked to speak to the manager alone before I left. Because mind you, now it 's after closing time and at this point every restaurant in town is CLOSED. Left with no options for anywhere to go, so that became really frustrating. She comes out and said she thought she made it clear and I told her what she had said and she said you 're right, I apologize, I got caught up in a to go order and forgot to come back. But she 's still hysterical and all my servers now refuse to serve you because of the incident, and I can 't because I am off the clock ....???? What incident..?! Your servers misunderstanding and spreading false statements in the kitchen?! It was VERYYYYYYY unprofessional. You need NEW staff. Some with thicker skin, and training. Because for you to allow your complete staff to refuse service based on hear say and a language barrier, is not the way to run a business. I could 've understood had anyone been vulgar or loud but none of which happened. But word of mouth is what makes a business. And after this experience I 'll be sure to spread it in my line of work, I 've brought a lot of clients to this small town. And I myself visit frequently. I will continue to eat mediocre Mexican food in the area for the better customer service experience over this any day. I AM the FIRST to stand up against ANYTHING racist, or that comes off as racism. My dad is Hispanic, my boyfriend black, and so many other mixed races in my family, so I would never stand for someone intentionally trying to hurt someone based on their race let alone anything el
I LOVE THE FOOD I ALSO WORK THERE AND I MYSELF HAD NO COMPLAINTS ..COME AND HAVE SOME MARGARITA AND STREET TACOS
Horrible service- we are normally very patient but after 30plus min of waiting for someone just to come get our drink order, we left. I understand short staffing but this is just not caring. We love the food but the service is lacking.
My daughter was assaulted in the bathroom by a drunk patron who apparently frequents this establishment per the manager. as we left and the manager said she told the person to leave and that I could call the cops if I wanted. As I left I saw the lady or drunk patron sitting on a curb next to the trashy hotel next to LA rumba. The manager does not care, MY daughter is 12 years old and was scared and crying as some drunk lady grabbed her by her shirt and told her she's pretty in the bathroom. I will never go here again.
Food is decent but service was super awful past 2x I’ve been. Like the worst ever.
