The service was quite acceptable and the food was very delicious. However, the drinks were a bit stingy compared to other restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place for dining and will be returning in the future.
Some things were very good, some were not. The chicken liver appetizer was very good. The crab in the crab cake appetizer was very good, but the mustard sauce overwhelmed the crab flavor. I had the blackened grouper over hoppin' johns with braised collards. The fish was good, but not blackened, and the collards overwhelmed everything else so I just ate the collards separately. The blackeyed peas in the hoppin' johns were not done (still hard). My husband had blackened catfish over grits and his grits were cold. We had the chocolate cake and it was great.
A little off the beaten path which we really enjoyed. It was a girls night out and we picked the perfect spot! The service was top notch, friendly and our server knew the menu and how the food was prepared which is always a plus! There were 5 of us and we all ordered something different and each of us loved what we ordered. May I suggest the fried Brussel sprouts, they will change your life! We enjoyed our evening out at On Forty One very much.
Always good! Ask to be seated in Heather's section...she is a wonderful server.
We arrived and they said they had no table for us. We had to eat at the bar. The hostess were rude .
