They have a huge breakfast and dinner menu. But you're better off skipping it. Okay, I digress, if you get their food, stick to the Taco Dinner plate or their Enchiladas. The beans they give with the plate is garbage but the asada tacos and the enchiladas are pretty good. Definitely come and stay for their Pulque, as it's as good as it gets. Pulque is a fermented agave sap drink that kinda has the taste of kombucha but heavier and thicker, alcoholic of course. That's really the only reason I come from the West side. It's for pulque and I've learned my lesson that is all that it should be. For pulque though, they offer 2 sizes that vary between $6 and $11. I recommend the pineapple, mango, guava, oatmeal flavors (as that's all I've tried so far) but I encourage you to explore the others too! Oh yeah and I know other Yelpers say this place is nasty. But it's not. It looks renovated to me, nice comfy new chairs, new marble tables and they even redid their mural art wall.
Mar y tierra dish was great. The meat was flavorful and tender. The shrimp were delicious and the guacamole was tasty. We will definitely be returning.
All six of our dinners were very good. The Al Pastor Burrito Suizo was outstanding. Portions were also very adequate. My Margaita could have used a bit more Tequila and Triple Sec.
No bang for your buck!!! The service was decent but there wasn't that many people to begin with. The coconut pulque was good but pricey as well. We ordered the dish of tampiqueña and it came with no tortillas. We had to ask for them! What Mexican establishment serves you an expensive plate and it comes with no tortillas??!! Here's the kicker, when we received our bill they charged us for the tortillas!!!!! We heard music upstairs and figured we'd check it out since we were already there. The entrance is next door and as we proceeded, security told us it would be $15 per person to enter. We did a quick 360 and left before they charged us just for breathing the air, adios!!
Ok, I gave this restraunt a try,..the very first time that my wife and I went , it was very difficult to give it a review , due to the fact that the pulque of coco was amazing. My wife went to use the restroom and found a dead mouse stuck in the Crack of the door,....The food was alittle pricey , but after pur dinner the owner came to our table and said to please excuse the mouse incident and that the dinner was on the house ,..mind you it was approximately $100 bill, ..I found that to be very generous for it being g a Pilsen restraunt and felt I would recommend it to others , but after tonight's experience,...I made up my mind and decided that I will never return ,. I recommended to my compadre and comadre that they should give it a shot , food was pricey, but it was a nice established,...well after we ordered our dinner my comadre ordered the surf and turf, it was presented very well , a Carne asada( skirt steak) was a small piece and was covered with shrimp to what I want I can only describe it as I see it,..the steak was covered with the shrimp to disguise the size of steak ,...ok, the dinner included salad and some white rice and a piece of garlic bread,......well we figured ok, this presentation was nice bit they didn't include tortillas,..... I belive the price was $39.00 for the dinner,.....but anyhow my comadre requested some tortillas , I mean after all it is a latin descent restraunt,.....well after a short while , we did get the torillas,..but to our amazement,....the tortillas costed us an extra $2.00.... that right there shocked all of us st the table ,....yes our total bill was $100.00 , but we all at the table stated , it will be our last time visiting this establishment ,.....none the less I hope that this review will help in any way deter people fro. Visiting this establishment. What can I say? I honestly gave them a second chance , and 100 0/0 They failed in e ery way possible......sincerely Chris Sandoval Pilsen Resident
